Installation Guideline

Installing flooring is a crucial stage that determines the final look, performance, and longevity of the surface. To achieve the best results, it is essential to follow proper installation practices and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Subfloor Preparation: Ensure the subfloor is level, clean, smooth, and completely dry. Any dust, oil, or debris can affect adhesion and cause uneven surfaces. Moisture content should be within permissible limits to prevent swelling or damage to the flooring.
  • Acclimatization : Before installation, allow the flooring material to acclimatize to the room temperature and humidity for at least 48 hours. This step minimizes expansion and contraction after installation.
  • Underlayment and Moisture Barrier: Use a high-quality underlayment or moisture barrier as recommended for your flooring type. This improves insulation, sound absorption, and moisture protection.
  • Layout and Alignment: Plan the layout before starting. Measure and mark reference lines to ensure straight alignment. Begin installation from one corner and maintain uniform spacing using spacers for expansion gaps.
  • Fixing and Finishing: Depending on the system—floating, glued-down, or click-lock—follow the appropriate fixing method. Ensure tight joints and clean the surface as you proceed. Finish by installing skirting or edge trims for a neat appearance.
  • Post-Installation Care: Avoid heavy traffic for at least 24–48 hours after installation to allow adhesives or joints to settle properly.

Maintenance Guideline

Proper maintenance not only preserves the beauty of your flooring but also ensures lasting performance and safety.

  • Regular Cleaning: Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly to remove dust and dirt that may cause scratches. For deeper cleaning, use a damp mop with mild, pH-neutral cleaner suitable for your flooring type. Avoid excessive water or steam cleaning.
  • Stain & Spill Management: Immediately clean spills or stains to prevent moisture penetration. Use a soft cloth and avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals that can damage the surface finish.
  • Furniture & Traffic Protection:Use felt pads or rubber caps under furniture legs to prevent dents or scratches. Avoid dragging heavy objects directly across the floor. Use rugs or mats in high-traffic areas to minimize wear.
  • Climate Control: Maintain indoor temperature and humidity within recommended limits. Extreme conditions can cause wood or laminate floors to expand or contract, affecting their appearance and stability.
  • Periodic Inspection: Check joints, trims, and edges regularly for signs of damage or lifting. Minor repairs done early can prevent major replacements later.
  • Long-Term Care: Refinish, polish, or recoat the surface as per the manufacturer’s schedule to retain its original luster and strength.
